What Happens To The Snake?
Photo: Releasing a Western Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus) we removed from an Aubin Grove home.
Once the snake has been safely caught and contained, it is then taken to an appropriate release site. We release snakes in locations where they will find shelter, food, water and always away from areas frequented by people or pets. We choose locations where the habitat is most appropriate for the species being relocated, thus offering the greatest chance of survival and success for every snake.
Sometimes we capture snakes that are in need of Veterinary attention. No snake is released if it is in poor health and any snake in need of medical treatment or rehabilitation receive the care they need to ensure their success once they have been released. The fees we charge contribute to these expenses.
